    THE POSITION:

    Sargent is searching for a full-time Asphalt Plant Technician at our Asphalt Plant in Hermon. Role specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Operate Asphalt Drum plant to produce hot mix asphalt as needed
    • Represent the company in a professional manner in person and over the phone.
    • Communicate with transport vehicles and coordinate the service of customers
    • Hand shoveling, greasing and general labor work around hot mix asphalt plant.
    • Operate various tools, water truck and small equipment.
    • Report to Plant Manager or other supervisor observed or known OSHA/safety violations.
    • Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas as needed.

    • Trained to unload liquid asphalt deliveries.
    • General labor work around plant – painting, mechanic work, etc.
    • Assisting QC Manager as directed.
    • All other tasks assigned by Plant Manager.

    THE POSITION:

    Sargent is searching for a Office Manager for our New Hampshire Region. We’ll be moving from our current location in Epping to our brand-new office in Fremont in a few weeks.

    The Office Manager is responsible for a variety of cost accounting tasks related to the collection of cost data required to monitor project budgets and schedules. Duties include, but are not limited to, answering phones, ordering supplies, maintaining project files, data entry, employee timecard review, including labor and equipment hours, production quantities and materials used, maintaining fuel reports, assist with tracking and invoicing aggregates, reviewing, verifying and approving payables and vendor charges, productivity and budget analysis and assisting with monthly cost to complete forecasting. Office Manager essential functions include:

    1. Accumulate, review and code employee time slips and foreman timecards and input into payroll and equipment cost system.
    2. Process job site material receiving reports and purchase orders to verify quantities, prices, payment terms and freight charges.
    3. Must become and maintain proficiency in company procedures and software platforms.
    4. Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to input quantities weekly into job cost system.
    5. Verify the cost coding of all job site transactions, including payroll, equipment, materials and subcontracts.
    6. Maintain time and material slips for all extra work on projects.
    7. Maintain and submit equipment fuel purchase and dispensing reports.
    8. Verify hired equipment hours and rates, cross-checking with truck slips. Submit payment requests for hired equipment on a weekly basis.
    9. Maintain project files.
    10. Assist in preparing special reports and studies requested by the client and/or project management.

     Applicants should possess:

    •  Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
    • Work experience in cost accounting in the construction industry preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of and experience in payroll or time and attendance tracking.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficiency and experience with accounting software.
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
    • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-motivated with ability to handle multiple projects and work autonomously.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
