Our work on this project included the construction of an in-river, nature-like fishway, along with dam rehabilitation and parking area restoration. Sargent’s scope of work was quite broad, including site preparation, stump grinding, grubbing, installation of erosion controls, fencing and guardrail installation, and driveway and pathway construction. We also did landscaping work and grinding and cleanup of the final laydown area.
In the river, we installed and removed a temporary cofferdam, placed riprap fill, constructed a boulder training wall to separate the fishway from the rest of the river, rehabilitated the dam crest, and constructed the fishway. We also performed concrete demolition and new concrete placement.
We demolished a portion of the dam to reconfigure water flows to the new, more natural rock fishway, which consists of boulders and smaller stones.
