Sargent crews completed several water-related projects in the Lewiston-Auburn area in 2025, including a $5.5 million second phase of a water main installation for the City of Lewiston, which will bring a new, redundant 24-inch ductile iron water line from North River Road to the Turner Street Facility in Auburn. Concurrently, Sargent is replacing a box culvert on Stetson Road in Auburn for $600,000, and in Lewiston, they are replacing the Robinson Gardens culvert for $1.5 million and continuing work on a 2.1 million gallon combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage tank at the Lewiston Auburn Clean Water Authority Wastewater Treatment Plant, a multi-year project designed to prevent untreated wastewater discharge into the Androscoggin River during high flow events. The water main project, which faced challenges with ledge removal, was expanded to include an additional 2,445 feet of pipe installation to expedite work ahead of planned state repaving.
