Sargent employee-owners restored approximately 450 feet of shoreline adjacent to Bug Light Park in South Portland, Maine, a site with historic connections to Liberty ship construction during World War II. The project included capping contaminated soils, removing remnants of an old dock and timber cribbing, re-establishing the shoreline subgrade, and installing heavy riprap to stabilize the shoreline. Sargent also constructed a berm to improve resilience to tidal flooding and coordinated work around tides and winter weather conditions. The 1.5-acre project required approximately 2,500 cubic yards of borrow, 1,700 cubic yards of heavy riprap, and 750 cubic yards of crushed stone.
