Sargent is providing rough grading and site development for a planned Microsoft data center on a 50-acre site known as AVC 11 in La Crosse, Virginia. The work includes clearing, stripping approximately 55,000 cubic yards of topsoil, mass excavation, cut-to-fill operations involving approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material, and construction of stabilized building pads and a heavy access road. Sargent is also self-performing stormwater work, including two new ponds, modifications to existing ponds, outfall filtration systems, retaining walls, and sediment control on the adjacent AVC 09 parcel. The project builds on Sargent’s previous work with Skanska on Microsoft data center sites in nearby South Hill, Virginia.
