Sargent’s Experience

When it comes to site development projects, even though every project is unique, we've experienced and built hundreds of them. Thanks to our diverse business, Sargent can handle all facets of site development — from mass excavation to utilities — under one roof. There's no middle man here.

Sargent has strong expertise in all types of site development and its related services. Our team performs bedrock excavation, finishing, aggregate materials sourcing, and even custom fabrication. There are few things more important to us than maximizing the value we provide our clients.

Trusted and Collaborative Team Members

The Sargent project management team brings centuries of experience in managing both our work and that of subcontractors. Oftentimes, development projects have many parties involved, and cooperation between them can make or break a project. Sargent's willingness and ability to lead cooperatively is second to none.

Creating Win-Win Propositions

We love what we do, and it shows in our work and job sites. However, we're only happy if everyone wins. We win when all stakeholders in a project — including the owner, subcontractors, and end-users — win first. It's why every project is a labor of love for Sargent.

Delivering Real Value

While we're not always the lowest bidder, we're always determined to bring real value. This applies to the estimating and pre-construction process as much as it does the construction process. What if we can value-engineer the project to be an even lower cost than the lowest bid? Thanks to our core purpose and values, we aim to be the most valuable site contractor you've ever worked with.

We Start By Listening

We’ve learned the hard way that what the owner wants and what they need may be two different things. We dig hard to understand your overarching project goals, interval milestones, and internal and external sensitivities. Whether driven by quantity, regulations, or time, we find a way to achieve those goals.

“It’s refreshing to work with a contractor like Sargent. There’s a give-and-take approach and respect for our opinions that is not common among many other contractors.”
Scott Graham
Consulting Engineer, James W. Sewall Company

Problems We Solved

  • In lieu of lump sum contract, Sargent proposed a cost-plus contract with guaranteed max price. For every dollar we came in under the G-Max, the owner saved 50%, totaling over $1 million saved.
  • Initially, existing plastic soils were disqualified as embankment material on a new hospital site. Our team worked with owner’s geotechnical team on means a methods to qualify them for use, saving nearly $2 million in export/import costs.
