Sargent crews returned to the University of Maine this spring for another major athletic facility project, handling earthwork and storm drain improvements for expansions at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena and Shawn Walsh Hockey Center. Part of UMaine’s Athletics Facilities Master Plan, the project includes a 13,000-square-foot addition to the hockey center, a 4,900-square-foot expansion of Alfond Arena, and a 5,000-square-foot renovation. Sargent is relocating utilities and preparing the site for foundations, with the project expected to be completed by fall 2025, funded by the Harold Alfond Foundation.
