Sargent’s approximately $9 million project at the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility in Leesburg, Virginia, involved constructing a new landfill entrance to separate commercial and residential customer traffic. This project was necessitated by an 87% increase in annual customer transactions between 2013 and 2023, which created significant logjams and safety concerns at the existing single entrance and scale. Awarded in May 2024 and completed in August 2025, the extensive scope included earthwork, grading, paving, utility installation (storm drain, water, sewer), and construction of new features like a prefab scale house, scale canopy, and tire wash system. Project Executive Travis Ridky noted the work, which included moving 60,000 cubic yards of material, was a unique, multi-component project. This new entrance is the first phase of a larger, multiphase infrastructure update, with future plans for a grade-separated convenience center.
